Emilien Feneuil
Coteaux Champenois Chamery 2015
Coteaux Champenois Blanc · Chamery, Montagne de Reims · 50cl
€250
Emilien Feneuil’s first vintage, and one of Champagne’s rarest still whites: pure Petit Meslier from the lieu-dit Les Puits in Chamery, a single feuillette raised around 19 months on lees. Spontaneous ferment, unfined, unfiltered, minimal sulphur — taut orchard-fruit acidity carried by remarkable saline length.
Feneuil farms 2.37 hectares across seventeen plots in Sermiers, Chamery and Écueil — organically since 2008 (Ecocert), worked biodynamically with trees planted back into the rows. He sold grapes by the kilo until 2014; 2015 is the debut he bottled under his own name, vinified in a borrowed cellar and released only at the end of 2019.
